Arm Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: ARM, "Arm") today announced a new generation of Arm Neoverse technologies. This includes expanding the Arm Neoverse Computing Subsystem (CSS) product roadmap with new N-series IP with improved performance efficiency. The Neoverse CSS N3 delivers up to 20 percent more performance per watt than the Neoverse CSS N2. Additionally, for the first time, Arm is bringing compute subsystems to the performance-first V-Series product line with the new Neoverse CSS V3, which is based on the new Neoverse V3 IP and delivers up to 50 per cent more performance per chip than previous Neoverse CSS products.
From small sensors to large data centres, the world is embracing Artificial Intelligence (AI), which is being used in everything from education and employment to manufacturing, healthcare and transportation. As the world's most pervasive architecture, Arm is the cornerstone for running AI. In the infrastructure space, general-purpose CPUs are no longer enough. Headline tech companies such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft, and NVIDIA have redesigned and optimised their entire stack, from silicon to software and systems, to meet the performance, efficiency, and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) demands of the new, more demanding workloads of AI.
We are honoured that technology pioneers in the industry have chosen the Arm Neoverse platform as the cornerstone of their global AI vision," said Mohamed Awad, senior vice president and general manager of Arm's Infrastructure Business Unit. This is a testament to Arm's technology leadership and the freedom we have to empower our partners to innovate, but it also highlights the strength of our ecosystem. Arm is uniquely positioned in the industry because of its ability to combine technology, flexibility and partners in a way that no other vendor can."
The Arm Neoverse CSS is a revolutionary product. As an optimised, integrated and validated platform, Neoverse CSS brings together the key technologies that form the core of a system-on-chip (SoC). With Neoverse CSS, Arm has created a sound starting point for partners seeking to prioritise differentiation, optimise SoCs and accelerate time-to-market. Because Arm works more deeply with its ecosystem partners than any other computing vendor, Neoverse CSS is designed to optimise TCO for the most important workloads and support emerging key technologies such as chiplets.
Neoverse CSS has been adopted by a wide range of companies in the industry, including head cloud service providers, startups, and in diverse applications such as cloud computing, networking, datacentre infrastructure, and AI, with the Microsoft Azure Cobalt CPU being one of the products built on Neoverse CSS.
The ecosystem is one of Arm's strongest assets. To enable partners to quickly and successfully deliver custom solutions, Arm earlier launched the Arm Total Design ecosystem, which brings together partners committed to seamlessly delivering custom SoCs based on Neoverse CSS.
Arm today also announced that the Arm Total Design ecosystem has attracted more than 20 technology partners from across the spectrum who are committed to ensuring broad accessibility to high-performance, high-efficiency solutions that will help meet the computing needs of an AI-accelerated future. Building on the technology of Neoverse CSS, these partners are already working together on everything from validating IP and customising firmware to building dies on advanced process nodes around the world.
Based on feedback from Arm's comprehensive design ecosystem partners, Arm has created the recently released Chiplet System Architecture (CSA), which is designed to define a powerful, universally-supported chiplet ecosystem.
